My Designs
Exporting your design to HTML
is very easy in SpaceCAD - click
the image above to see the
Cuello Largo design in HTML.
Many more interesting designs
can be found at the BARCLONE
site.
Bill Cooke's Virtual Space
This page contains my rocket designs that I have yet to implement or have entered
into design contests such as those sponsored by EMRR. Clicking on the design
drawing will bring up the design as a RockSim or (rarely) SpaceCAD file. If you don't
have RockSim, you can download the demo by clicking here, while SpaceCAD can
be obtained here.
I hope you find my creations interesting... Don't hesitate to provide some feedback!

Cuello Largo ("Long neck" in Spanish) - This was my entry into EMRR's Virtual Contest #6. A middle of the road performer, it did very well in the altitude event, with the greatest feet per newton of thrust.
|
|
|
I also tried designing Cuello Largo in SpaceCad, which could not create the "spikes" on the 2nd fin set. Was able to replicate everything else, though.

The Streak-E - A high flyin', 24 mm 2 stage rocket. RockSim says this puppy can top 2600 feet on a D12/E9 engine combo. Be prepared to walk a bit to recover this one!

|
I was easily able to reproduce the Streak-E in SpaceCAD, which says that the D12/E9 combo should yield an apogee of about 2230 feet - 400 feet lower than above.

Go 4th - My entry into EMRR's Virtual Contest #8. Yet another middle of the road performer, I actually built this one for the bonus points - and also because I was feeling patriotic.
|
|
|
Eisenmann - My entry into EMRR's Virtual Iron Rocketman Competition. Placing 7 out of 11, I had a run of bad luck that resulted in loss of both virtual copies before the final contest event.
|
|
|
Cetus - My entry into EMRR's "Big and Fat" Virtual Contest. Possessing the most cargo space of any of the entries, it placed 8th out of a field of 11.

Very useful RockSim tips
can be found in Apogee Rockets
biweekly newsletter. Click above
to visit the archive. Side pods,
tube fins... It's all there.
VCP - A FREE rocket
design program
can be had by
clicking the icon. Not
as good as RockSim
or SpaceCAD, many
rocketeers swear by
this code. I use it to
print fin marking
guides, shrouds,
and other paper stuff.
